Using the resource
Students can work collaboratively in groups to:
- describe management practices that assist in providing safe drinking water and protecting habitats (Water catchments)
- outline the role of chemists (Water quality)
- describe how Sydney’s water supply system is monitored and managed (Water quality)
- perform first-hand investigations of water quality (Investigations)
- identify possible sources of contamination in Sydney’s drinking water catchments (Water contamination)
- assess water filtration processes used by Sydney Water (Water quality).
Students can then gather, process and present information about their local town water supply.
