Tests

A number of parameters are tested when monitoring a water supply system. For your task you will test your water samples for:

  • electrical conductivity
  • turbidity
  • dissolved oxygen
  • available phosphates
  • pH.

There are a number of methods which can be used in water quality testing. Methods have been chosen from the Streamwatch manual.

For each investigation you will:

  1. observe a demonstration of the test
  2. conduct the investigation using the method provided
  3. record your results (Word 200 kB)
  4. discuss how your results compare to ANZECC guidelines
  5. answer quiz questions to check your understanding.
