About turbidity

Turbidity is a measure of the cloudiness or muddiness of water. Turbidity results will be higher with more suspended and colloidal solids in the water.

Follow the method to test the turbidity using a turbidity tube for your water samples. (pdf – 80 kB).

Record your results (Word 200 kB).

How do your water samples compare to the ANZECC Water Quality Guidelines for turbidity? (Assume your sample came from an upland river.)
